Seventeen years after first discovering a breathtaking section in the Tahuna hills, Wendy and Graham Cooper entrusted Contemporary Homes NZ with the design and build of their dream home.
From their first meeting with Paul and Melissa Richards, they knew this was a team that created something different — homes defined by clean lines, thoughtful material choices, and extraordinary attention to detail.
The brief was clear: a warm, welcoming home with strong indoor–outdoor flow, spaces for entertaining, and calm private areas that showcased the expansive Tasman Bay views. What followed was a seamless and collaborative process.

The completed home nestles naturally into its landscape, clad in honey-toned Abodo eco-timber and framed by expansive glazing that opens fully to outdoor living spaces. Passive heating, hydronic underfloor heating, polished concrete floors, and carefully considered ventilation create a house that is comfortable year-round.
Every detail — from bespoke joinery and integrated cabinetry to future-proofed layouts and thoughtfully designed private spaces — reflects a home that is both luxurious and practical.
The build was completed in ten months.
